The art of hand waving of gold and silver goes back to 256 BC.
The ancient city of TRAPEZOUS (today’s modern city of TRABZON) was a Black Sea port founded by the Miletian traders.
Today the same tradition of high quality craftsmanship and age old technique continues. Young girls from the villages prefer to work at home with this craft instead of working in offices or factories in big cities. With the money they earn they prepare their dowry.
The most unique part of this art is the thickness of the gold or silver wires which is 1/10 of a millimeter, almost the thickness of a hair.
